Using plastic sheets to sculpt acrylic paint, I created skin-like wrinkled textures on the surface of these works.
This series explores the surface as skin, and asks questions like:
How resilient is the body? When our bodies reveal our reality through signs of aging or trauma such as sagging, wrinkling, stretch marks, or scars, do they become more or less beautiful? What do we expose or not expose on our skin about who we are? Is showing skin vulnerable or does it act as an armor to our inner selves?
